East Boston Fire: Help Michael and His Mom

My name is Michael Zelaya. I've spent my whole life living in East Boston. including living on Saratoga for about 17 years. Unfortunately that came to an end as my mother and I were impacted in the fire of 151 Saratoga Street.

I've been in East Boston my whole life. When it came down to my education - I spent my elementary years at the James Otis & for high school got my diploma from East Boston High maintaining a 4.1 GPA while playing Football & Basketball. Now, I have decided to pursue my degree and become a teacher as I'm working under Excel Academy as a Teaching Fellow.

As for my mother, she has always worked day and night to provide for me and my brother. She always made sure to be a present single-mother and we always praise her for what she's done to get us to this point.

Luckily, we were safe during this fire but, just have the clothes on our back and support from family and friends.

Starting from 0 isn't easy but, it is doable. Thank you for reading some of our story and we appreciate ALL the support in any way, whether it's a donation or simply just a share. Grateful for what my community has already done & can't thank y'all enough.
