As a parent working toward a teaching degree, I’m doing everything I can to build a better future for my family—but I can’t do it alone. I’m used to carrying the weight quietly, but I’m stepping outside my comfort zone and asking for help so I can keep moving forward.
I’m currently in college working toward my goal of becoming a teacher. While I’m incredibly grateful for the Pell Grant, it doesn’t fully cover the cost of my education. Even with financial aid, I still owe close to $2,000 each term. At the moment, my outstanding balance is about $3,000, with several terms still ahead before I can complete my degree.
On top of tuition, my family is also facing necessary childcare expenses. Because both my husband and I work, our daughter attends aftercare every weekday. For the remainder of this school year, that cost is over $600. This aftercare is essential—not only because of our work schedules, but because it allows her to attend a charter school that offers a strong academic environment and meaningful opportunities for her future.
Balancing college, work, and parenting has not been easy, but I am deeply committed to finishing my degree. Becoming a teacher will allow me to build a stable career, give back to my community, and provide a better future for my family.
Any support—whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser—would make a real difference. Your help would ease some of the financial stress and allow me to stay focused on school, work, and being present for my family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for any support you’re able to offer. It truly means more than I can say.
