Easing the Burden of Kenobi's Loss. He was such a good cat.
Donation protected
UPDATE: Thank all of you for your generosity. I'm going to stop accepting donations on the fundraiser tomorrow, as it went way past the goal. Any money left over after the Vet bills will be put into a special savings account for in case one of our other cats needs to go to the vet. Thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Unfortunately, we had to have my brother's cat Kenobi put to sleep last Monday. He stopped eating all of a sudden, so we took him to the vet and they ran tests and sent us home with an appetite enducer. Over the weekend, he didn't eat anything even though we tried giving him all sorts of food. We took him back on the following Monday where they ran more tests, and it turned out he lost a lot of weight between that Friday and Monday, and had issues with a lot of his organs. The only option was to send him to intensive care, where they would have had to hook him up to all sorts of machinery and a feeding tube, but the vet said that even then, it wasn't looking good for him, and he would unlikely be able to survive, and we didn't want to put him through that. So my brother and I had to make one of the worst decisions in our lives. I'm actually in tears while writing this.
I realize it's weird to make a fundraiser for a cat that is already gone, and I actually really had to think about making one was the right thing to do. Though, my brother and I could use the help with the resulting vet bills for all the tests and such.
We really miss the little guy.
