Easing the Burden of Buddy's Tragedy
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
My name is Mr. Calderon, and I am a teacher at Nueva Continuation High School, part of the Kern High School District. I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your support for one of our students who has recently experienced an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking event.
This past weekend, on March 22, 2025, a group of our most dedicated students participated in a local community clean-up in honor of Cesar E. Chavez. One of our students, who is known for their compassion and commitment to the community, brought along their loyal dog, Buddy, who is a constant companion and a familiar sight at our school. Unfortunately, as the event concluded, Buddy was struck by a negligent driver who did not bother to stop to do the right thing.
In the wake of this tragedy, Buddy was rushed to a local veterinary clinic in Bakersfield. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the heartbreaking decision was made to euthanize Buddy to prevent further suffering. The cost of veterinary care, including the emergency treatment, amounted to over $1,300, a heavy financial burden for the family during an already challenging time.
We are asking for your kind support to help ease this unexpected financial strain on the family. Any contribution, big or small, would go a long way in providing them with some relief during this difficult moment of grief and loss.
Thank you for considering supporting this cause and for being a part of this caring and compassionate community. Your generosity and kindness are deeply appreciated.
