I am heartbroken to share that my friend and colleague, Shannon Okey, has suffered an unimaginable loss. Her partner Andy, the love of her life, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 2nd, leaving Shannon and her beautiful 10-year-old daughter, Mikayla, navigating life without him.

Shannon and Andy had just begun their next chapter together, closing on their new home this summer. Shannon devoted herself not only to being an amazing mom to Mikayla, an avid softball player with a bright future ahead, but also to lovingly caring for Andy, who lived with spina bifida. He loved his family, friends, and his sports teams with his whole heart. Shannon and Andy's bond was extraordinary, and his sudden absence is devastating.

Now, Shannon faces the overwhelming challenge of moving forward, managing unexpected expenses, maintaining their new home, and ensuring that Mikayla's dreams, including her future education, are realized. Shannon has always been the first to help others; now it's our turn to surround her and Mikayla with support.
