I'm Jennifer Harper, and I've been blessed to walk alongside the Hamilton family as a close friend for nearly 40 years. Over that time, they've truly become family to me in every sense of the word. We've shared life's highs and lows together, and the news of Mama June has left a deep ache in all of our hearts.
I can still hear her voice, fussing at us for all the stupid things we did growing up—memories I would give anything to experience just one more time. You never fully realize the impact someone has on your life until you're faced with losing them, and all the memories come rushing back.
I love this family deeply, and I'm starting this fundraiser on their behalf because I know they would never ask for the help, even when they truly need it.
On April 13, 2026, around 11 am, June was having a hard time breathing and called an ambulance for help. When paramedics arrived, they found her unconscious and without a pulse. After 20 minutes of CPR, they were able to revive her pulse, intubate, and transfer her to Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.
Studies later confirmed she suffered from a heart attack and lack of oxygen to her brain. Due to the lack of oxygen, she also suffered a severe brain injury and remains unresponsive.
The severity of her medical outcome has forced the family to make the difficult decision to stop treatment of care and entrust her into God's hands.
June lived alone with very limited funds and did not have life insurance. Unfortunately, this has left her family facing unexpected financial challenges during an already difficult time. Even in the midst of this, they are placing their trust in God for comfort, strength, and provision.
If you feel led, any contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward easing the financial burden of funeral and travel expenses during this incredibly difficult time. And if you're unable to give, your prayers, support, and sharing of this page would mean just as much to their family.
Thank you for your love, kindness, and support during this time.
