January 13, 2025 was a very heartbreaking day! A dear friend and long-time co-worker, Jose Zeron, lost his beloved wife and soul mate, Dixie Leilani Zeron, unexpectedly. Dixie is a remarkable woman that everyone she touched will dearly miss. She loved her family and animals with a fierce passion. Her kind and gentle spirit touched many.

Jose along with their son, Levon, spoiled her and made sure she was safe and well cared for! Levon always made sure that she was surrounded by the flowers that she loved and had her favorite things to eat and drink. Levon and his friends provided her with lots of fun conversations and love that helped raise her spirits.

Her last few years were challenging but she always managed to smile and make everyone she came in touch with feel her loving spirit. She made such a positive impression on her doctors and staff despite the significant major health difficulties she faced.

The tragic loss of her daughter and only grandchild was the catalyst in her rapid decline in health. The stress from the unexpected deaths greatly heightened her congestive heart failure and cancer. Most recently, she dealt with dialysis and the much dreaded - dementia. Jose and Levon alternated care giving duties so she could remain at home and be surrounded by her loving family. Due to rapid decline in physical health due to a fall, a significant amount of house renovation had to be done to provide a safe environment on the first floor of their home.

Unfortunately, the care giving and home renovations created a financial burden on Jose and Levon. This financial burden was further amplified by her unexpected death.
