Hello you big-hearted people. I am raising funds for a local family here in Costa Rica (Carolina Marchini, the Marchini family). I am including their post on our local chat here below. Please help if you can. An $800 vet bill is a lot of money in the US, but it's A LOT OF MONEY here in Costa Rica where $6 USD an hour for work is considered a good hourly pay here in San Mateo.
She is a single mother and works multiple jobs to support her family.
I have a dog, and he is family. I can only imagine the devastation this would cause me if something like this happened to him, and to have the financial burden on top of it. Please help if you're able. No amount is too small.

From Carolina:
I would like to inform the community about a very painful situation our family has recently experienced.
On Saturday, 29 November, between 8:00 pm and 11 pm, our dog escaped from our home. During that time, he was hit by a vehicle that did not stop, leaving him seriously injured on the road.
It was only the following morning, thanks to a neighbour, that we were able to find him. He was trapped in barbed wire on a nearby property, with severe injuries in his two front legs after being dragged.
Our dog, weighing 35 kg, suffered irreversible damage to both front legs. He underwent two surgeries, was hospitalised for a week, and received several treatments. Sadly, during a subsequent treatment, his heart could not take any more and he passed away.
Our family, especially my daughters, are going through an extremely difficult time. We are relatively new residents in the valley and, as a single mother I work multiple jobs to support my family.
The veterinary expenses are crazy high and goes up to the amount of ₡400,000 colones. (**This is $800USD) If anyone is in a position to help us cover these costs, we would receive it with deep gratitude.

CR is not a supported country on here, so the family can't create their own gofundme, nor can funds be directly deposited into their bank account from gofundme. I will be collecting the money into my US bank account, and then wiring it to the family's CR bank account once the goal is reached, per their request. There is a $40 wire fee on my end, and a $25 wire receiving fee on their end, and the $35 or so that gofundme will take out as fees, so we are adding $100 to the total vet bill. Let's help ease the financial burden for this single mother.
