What started out as one unexpected family tragedy turned into TWO just weeks apart.

On July 7th, my uncle Martin (Marty) DeNicola passed away...

For those of you who knew my uncle, you knew he was a lover of the New York Giants, Van Halen, Ozzy, and Kiss!

You may remember the days of him working in the family business, Owl Cleaners, on Avenue C in Bayonne, and later venturing off to work on the New Jersey Turnpike where he later retired...

He taught me how to drive, and that took patience lol, but we had a lot of fun memories, especially camping!

Or you would find him hanging out in Pat's Tavern; a lot of memories were made there!

My Uncle Marty's passing was such a heartbreaking shock to our whole family.

But it didn't stop there....

Our family endured another heartbreaking tragedy....

On July 31st, my uncle Joseph (Joey) DeNicola also passed away suddenly - just weeks after my Uncle Marty passed away....

We were already dealing with one death and then sadly another, and my family was devastated and heartbroken.

If you knew my Uncle Joey, he also was a huge New York Giants fan and a big fan of Van Halen. I remember when I was younger, hearing my uncle playing the drums to Van Halen in the back studio behind the cleaners... Memories like that you just don't forget.

My Uncle Joey also ran the family business at Owl Cleaners for years. Even when my grandfather passed away, he took it over. He also opened up his own deli a few doors down the block called Joey D's Deli. He also loved to go fishing and crabbing whenever he got the chance.

Uncle Joey and Uncle Marty were roommates for many years; they did everything together. They were inseparable.

Both of my uncles did not have any savings nor life insurance. The life insurance that my Uncle Marty did have, I will say, cannot be touched as its beneficiary is a minor and can't be touched till he is 18

So my family is now battling costs for both of their cremations as we cannot have funeral services for either one of them at this time.

It's been a lot of heartache for my family.

My family is not the one to ask for help, but at this time, we have two deaths within weeks of each other, and it is very sad and overwhelming. My family is going through a lot of heartache, and I know this would relieve some financial stress.
