- Hi there, I am Kenyatta's wife and doing a GoFundMe to help cover some costs of medical bills, necessities, and transportation. Kenyatta got sick unexpectedly in late October 2024 and was taken out of work due to his condition. He originally was diagnosed with endocarditis, sepsis, and small vessel disease/mini stroke. After months of therapy and appointments, the doctors and specialists have diagnosed him with late-stage vascular dementia and functional neurological disorder. He is out of work indefinitely. I am currently his caregiver as we have 3 littles at home and he cannot be by himself due to the dementia. He has his days he's baseline, but then he has other days where he knows I’m his wife but does not know my full name. As an example of a bad day recently, a good lifelong friend of mine had passed away, and when he was at the hospital, he insisted she was at the hospital with us in another room. Then there are days where he can be somewhat okay and know a lot of answers to a lot, but you could ask that same question hours later and he wouldn't remember. He is in a great deal of pain. Any help would be greatly and immensely appreciated as we've tried staying caught up and playing catch-up without doing a GoFundMe or asking for help, but unfortunately, we are now having issues trying to stay current with bills and such. We are waiting to hear from disability and hope and pray until then we can manage somehow. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and consider helping Kenyatta and our family. The stress from not being able to work is taking its toll on him more and more, so I'm praying this will help ease that stress to take some of his troubled thoughts away.
