Arlo was rescued in the rain, tied to a pole, and Joyce took him home to fix him up, and get someone to rescue him for a loving forever home. Well, it turned out she couldn’t give him away, she immediately fell in love with the little guy. As has everyone else over the years.

Unfortunately, Arlo has been diagnosed with a large brain tumor for which nothing can be done. Right now she is keeping him as comfortable as she can, but only has a short time until the pain takes over and Joyce has to do the unthinkable task of letting him cross over the rainbow bridge. This diagnosis came after several vet visits, tests etc and the cost as you can imagine is quite high. I’ve lost track of the costs the last few months. But for certain it’s well over 10,000.

Joyce has been taking care of animals for decades, with her own money, and has an immense passion for animals and goes out of her way to help them all. From cat colonies, to injured animals on the streets, to helping neighbors.

Arlo is like a staple on Fort Washington, he even had coffee with the late Dr Ruth last year, and he can always be found with kids swooning over him, as well as adults. You just can’t help but to love the little guy.

Now for the part no one wants to do. Ask for help. But Joyce has piled so much of her own money into rescuing animals and taking care of others, and often saying yes when her plate is full. But she loves animals so she continues to do what she loves. But now some high cost bills are rolling in and I’d love to see if I could get her some help to ease that part of her burden, as well as costs when the time comes for her to say goodbye to her extremely faithful and loving companion. Joyce is an extremely generous person, she doesn’t ask for much, or anything really for herself. So I’m here asking, because that’s what friends do and I’m also devastated I’m loosing my little buddy but I can only do so much. Please share this information and give if you can. I’d love so much to be able to make this all just a little easier if I can.
