My Harley was a 10 week old Great Pyrenees/Lab puppy when I brought him home.
Hes’s now 10 years old, a very good boy and is very much loved by me and his little dog sister, Chloe, and his cat brother Tux. Harley loves going on walks. He loves to play with his big ball that has a handle on it,but his favorite activity is chasing the laser. I’m hoping he can comfortably live to see a snow day. He absolutely loves the snow and I wish that for him.
Harley was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) today. His exam, X-rays sedation and pain medication for palliative care are costly. I’m really struggling financially, though I do work, I’m 64 and doing the best I can. We all know life is expensive. I am concerned about paying off the vet bill and also continuing to treat him for his pain. I also was told I need to have a plan in place when the time comes to euthanize him. This will have to be done at home because of his fear of cars. I just can’t force him in a car on his last day on earth. I want him to be surrounded by love, not strbgess. I just want to be able to care for him and not be so stressed out about affording the costs to help him as best as I can He’s happy and eating, but in pain. So, he can’t play or go on walks right now now, but I’m hoping as the vet said, he will be having less pain in a week and should be feeling better.
I appreciate any donation or share of this post and I thank you so much for taking the time to read this and if you could share this I’d really appreciate it.
