For those of you that know me, you know I don’t like asking for much, and the last thing I expected was to be on here creating a GoFundMe for my Dad! These funeral costs got my head spinning, so here I am humbly asking for anything to help. My Dad was a wonderful, caring person who fiercely loved his kids. He made a ton of mistakes in his younger years, but that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to celebrate the magnificence of his gentle spirit and his bigger-than-life personality. He was diagnosed with throat cancer a little over a year ago and had a mass removed from his throat, causing him to have a tracheotomy. His life was completely upended when he could no longer enjoy eating some of his favorites (too many to mention). He’d been struggling with his care and his doctor appointments because he didn’t have a car and was solely reliant on public transportation whilst living in Mexico and coming back and forth to San Diego. His health took a dramatic turn fairly recently, landing him once again in the ER where he suffered a fall and hit his head on the bathtub. While being treated, he stated to the doctor that he was having a hard time breathing. Well, come to find out, he had a really bad infection in his throat and was also bleeding internally, causing him to have an emergency blood transfusion. Now also in a medical coma on a ventilator, his body started to completely shut down. His kidneys started to fail, and his liver was also failing. Hope looked extremely bleak. The last days of his life were spent in the ICU on a ventilator with so many different types of drugs it was sad to see he was not being receptive to any of it. He fought hard towards the end, but in the end, he lost his battle. To glory he went to spend eternity in Heaven.
