Easing Brittany’s Burden After Her Loss

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Adam Waldeck and I am Brittany Small’s boyfriend. I am starting this GoFundMe for her in an effort to ease her emotional and financial burden after a painful year for her. On May 2nd, 2025, Brittany’s father Theodore “Bill” Fisk passed unexpectedly from complications of a choking incident. Brittany, like many others, loved her father and misses him everyday.

Brittany works as a certified nursing assistant and puts her heart and soul into caring for her residents at Sedgewood Commons in southern Maine. Brittany took minimal time off from work after her father’s passing, as she needed to pay for household bills, daily necessities, transportation costs, and other unexpected costs. Brittany took care of her intellectually disabled adult brother for nine months until he could get the structured care he needed in a group home. Brittany’s father did not have a will. Brittany is currently in the early stages of probate court to obtain ownership of her father’s home. These circumstances have emotionally, physically, and financially strained Brittany, and have not allowed her the time she needs to grieve the loss of her father.

Brittany is taking a leave of absence from her part-time job that begins May 1st and ends May 31st. This will allow her time to focus on healing and grieving the loss of her father.

How will your donations help Brittany?

Your donations will support Brittany with upcoming financial obligations and her lost wages for the month of May. Your support will also help ease the emotional burden Brittany has been navigating over the past year. As her boyfriend and someone who has lost a parent, I can attest Brittany is an amazing person and deserves a deep breath after a long year.

Below is a list of expenses Brittany has for the month of May:

  • Biannual land tax
  • Home insurance payment
  • Utilities (electricity and trash removal)
  • Transportation (car payment and gas)
  • Medical bill payments
  • Groceries (food, hygiene products, household cleaning supplies, etc.)
  • Caring for her two dogs Bella and Duke (dog food, medication, veterinary debt)
  • Further pursuing and finalizing the probate court process (legal aid and court filing fees)

Thank you for taking the time to read Brittany’s story. We appreciate and thank all those who donate and spread the word!
