Help Brian DeVoe Focus on Recovery After Stroke
Hello friends, family, and kind strangers. My name is Kayla Shook, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Brian DeVoe.
On December 30th, 2025, our world was turned upside down when my dad suffered a stroke. He is currently at home, fighting hard to regain his strength, mobility, and independence. While we are so thankful he is still with us, the road to recovery is long, and it has brought overwhelming financial stress to our family.
My dad is a lifelong mechanic and for many, a handyman. Because of the stroke, he has been forced to stop working immediately. As he focuses on physical, occupational, and speech therapy, the bills are piling up — household bills, daily living costs, and transportation to/from appointments. He was already a little behind and trying to catch up after getting his hip replaced last summer, and went as long as he could without asking for assistance.
He has always been the one to take care of others, and it is heartbreaking to see him so vulnerable. We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden so he can focus on one thing: getting better.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
Transportation
Essential mobility aids and overdue home modifications (materials to fix roof, and entry ramp)
Daily living expenses (taxes, food, utilities, transportation)
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page means the world to us. Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
