Hello everyone, my name is Brianna. I have known the Oakes family for 17 years.

On July 3rd, 2025, Gaetan unfortunately passed away to be with our beautiful maker, surrounded by family, after 11 months of battling cancer. When they first received the diagnosis that Gate had cancer, the doctors told Caroll Ann and Gate that he would only have a few months left to live, so getting life insurance was out of the question.

During these 11 months, both Caroll Ann and Gate had to close their restaurant and were unable to work due to the appointments and care Gate was in need of. Gate spent 11 months in and out of the hospital receiving care. I am making this GoFundMe to help support the family with funeral expenses to not cause further financial hardship on the family. This is the type of family that would take the shirt off their back for anyone who is in need, even if it was their last.
