Just five days after birth, our dear friends’ newborn tragically passed away. Baby Freya spent her last moments in a bassinet, where she belonged. And unfortunately tragedies happen.

No words can describe the pain and heartbreak they are experiencing. What should have been a time filled with joy, bonding, and recovery has suddenly become a time of unimaginable grief. Mom is still physically recovering from childbirth, and both parents are trying to process a loss that no family should ever have to face.

This tragedy has deeply traumatized the entire family. In the middle of this devastating loss, they are also caring for their six other children who still depend on them every day. Right now, they are doing their best to hold their family together while navigating overwhelming grief and trauma.

My family and I, along with our children, are very close to this family and their kids. When we miscarried, they showed up. They mean so much to us, and we want to be there to help them through this painful time. Unfortunately, we live a distance apart, and we need to travel either to bring them to us or to go to them so they are not facing this alone.

During this time, the last thing they should have to worry about is returning to work immediately or how they will keep up with bills and everyday expenses while they try to heal and care for their children.

We are starting this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial burdens so they can focus on what matters most right now—grieving, healing, and being present for their family.

Funds raised will help cover:

• Basic living expenses while they take time away from work

• Grief counseling and therapy

• Household necessities while they recover emotionally and physically

• Travel so our family can be together and support them during this time

• Additional needs that arise while caring for their six children
