In Loving Memory of Bertie Spencer ❤️

Our hearts are broken as we share that Bertie Spencer passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after a brave and painful battle with lung cancer.

Bertie was deaf and disabled his entire life, but you’d never know it by his spirit. He was pure joy — always smiling, always laughing, always finding light in places most of us wouldn’t even look. Everyone who met Bertie loved him instantly. He had a way of making you feel like the world wasn’t so heavy after all.

At the start of this year, Bertie began his fight against cancer. He went through countless treatments and faced each one with courage and hope. For a while, it seemed like he might beat it. But sadly, the cancer came back quickly and took him from us far sooner than we ever imagined.

Since their mother passed away, Bertie’s sister Terry Lee has been his rock, his caregiver, and his biggest supporter. She’s given everything she had — physically, emotionally, and financially — to make sure Bertie was cared for and surrounded by love until his final moments. Now, after all she’s done, she’s facing the heartbreaking task of laying her brother to rest, and the financial burden that comes with it.

We’re asking for help to ease that burden and give Bertie the peaceful, beautiful farewell he deserves. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward his funeral expenses and will mean the world to our family.

Bertie will always be remembered for his laughter, his light, and the love he gave so freely.
