Ease Financial Stress for the Mullin-Fong Family

Update- Albert passed away peacefully in Maryellen’s arms on April 5, 2025 at 3:15pm. He was surrounded by family and a wonderful hospice care team. His nurse said his passing was one of the most beautiful transitions she’s ever witnessed.

Continued prayers are requested as Maryellen and Philip navigate the immediate future. Financial assistance is especially appreciated at this time to help the family cover funeral costs and living expenses as Maryellen is self-employed. She will need to take time off away from work as she navigates life without Albert.

This page is dedicated the Mullin-Fong Family. Albert, Maryellen and Philip. I am Jamie Grossman and Maryellen and I have been friends since freshman year in high school.

As many of us know, her husband, Albert, continues to battle Stage IV cancer. Albert’s ongoing illness has prevented him from returning to work.

Maryellen is a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She is also a caring MFT, who helps so many families and individuals through her therapy practice and workshops. She is also a talented children’s book author and has a newly published book , What’s At The Bottom Of My Bed.

As many of us know, Albert’s battle has been ongoing for some time and very difficult. We often find ourselves asking how we can directly help ease some of the financial stress and concerns that inevitably come when a family is faced with fighting a long-term illness.

In chatting with Maryellen last week, I asked her how her community could help provide some financial support and she said “I wish I could get the word out about my book and get the copies sold”. Her book honors her family and is dedicated to her loving husband Albert and their adorable son Philip and features their sweet fur baby Dublin. So alas, here we are. This book will be a wonderful addition to your child’s shelf or as a gift for a loved one. I am asking for a suggested donation of $30 for a signed copy as a heartfelt thank you.
