Ease Alex and Katie's Burden After Pebbles' Passing

Pebbles came into rescue in December 2024. She was desperately thin and young, found surviving in a corn field. She was given medical care and love but soon found herself unable to adapt to the kennel environment.

Medication was no help so in early March the rescue sent her to a foster/train program. She began to thrive. She spent her final 6 1/2 weeks enveloped in love and security.

Pebbles spent 3 weeks with me in foster where we detoxed her from meds, taught basic manners, she learned to live in a family and make best friends. Her forever family spent 3 1/2 weeks with her deepening the love she knew with me and promising they would take care of her for her entire life.

Sadly, the end came way too soon. After spending the weekend at 3 different hospitals enduring multiple tests, it was discovered that her kidneys were damaged beyond repair. On Easter Sunday she went to the Bridge.

To say I am devastated is an understatement. She was such a fine ambassador for her breed, such a kind and gentle soul. Pebbles was able to love and be loved in the end. She deserved so much more but I will hold tight to the tender mercy that she left this world as a member of a family and one day we will see her again.

For Alex and Katie, the promise of this precious girl to mend their broken hearts and complete their family was far too short lived. To add insult to injury, the insurance policy they purchased for her will not cover their expenses. It was due to activate the day after she went to the hospital and their claim was denied. They are now obligated to pay all of those bills even as they mourn their sweet fur baby.

Please help me help them. Any amount is helpful and while it won’t unbreak their hearts it can help ease the pain. Thank you for kind consideration. ❤️
