Original Nations and Peoples InterNātional Earth Summit 2024

Financial contributions are urgently needed to meet travel costs of Elders, and equipment hire for the Earth Summit.

The Original Nations and Peoples InterNātional Earth Summit 2024 will take place over the Summer Solstice, December 17th – 21st 2024, on the lands of the Gumbaynggirr Nation (Bellingen NSW). This event continues a 25-year tradition of gathering to hear the voices of Original Nations and Peoples and working together for cultural, social and environmental equity.

For all Friends, Allies and Relatives,

Thank you for your consideration to contribute, support and/or sponsor this year’s Original Nations and Peoples (ONP) InterNātional Earth Summit! There is a growing awareness among environmental groups for the importance of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in addressing climate change and crisis. There are, however, very few spaces where ONP are able to come together where our voices are heard as pivotal to transformative initiatives for understandings of relationship with each other and our environment.

Where many are giving focus and energy to climate changes and crisis, we expand this narrative to include ideas that acknowledge and address the growing "social, environmental and cultural inequities”.

The support of sponsors and contributors is a truly important and crucial part of how this gathering happens! As grassroots and ONP communities we bring all our resources to bear for such events to occur. Bringing ONP from across Australia and other parts of the world and supporting our community hosts for this annual gathering is an extraordinary undertaking that incurs great expense. The sponsoring of Elders and knowledge Bearers, associated travel costs, logistical needs, each are significant to the overall. Our hope is that you are able to carefully consider and determine that which you can offer to support this undertaking.
