Please help donate what you can. Even $1 will help. On March 28th, there was a 7.7 earthquake in Mandalay, Myanmar/Burma. The Junta in Burma doesn't help the people. Tens of thousands of people are now homeless. I'm raising funds for my uncle and his family. Their home was destroyed and they have nowhere else to live. They are living on the streets right now. His wife, my aunt, has medical issues and is unable to walk. There are no hotels or anywhere to go as all the structures are unstable. There is no electricity, nowhere to cook food. It's a dire situation. I plan to send the money to my uncle via Western Union. Please help if you can. In Burma, people do not get any aid from the government as the government is a military dictatorship. If anything, they started bombing the affected areas 1 hour after the earthquake. Burma is already in a dire situation with the dictatorship and the current civil war. I hope I can raise enough funds for him to be able to find a home that's safe, food and other daily essentials for him and his family. Thank you!
A little story about my uncle. His name is Tin Aung. I call him Uncle Tin Aung. He's my mom's younger brother. He is 60 years old now and has a wife who is ill and unable to walk. Neighbors had to help carry her down three flights of stairs during the earthquake to save her. He has three children (cousins I've never met).
My uncle is the kindest person. I remember him vividly from my childhood because he was always so calm and kind to us children. He was also a huge help to my parents and did everything for them. After we all migrated to the US, he stayed in my childhood home to help give us peace of mind.
He's very selfless and always helps his sisters. He loves karate and was really good at it, but he had to give it up to take care of his family. My heart is broken to know he now doesn't have a home now and is sleeping on the side of the street... Thank you so much for your contribution. It's going to a really wonderful person.
