I am heartbroken as I found out about two major earthquakes measured at 7.8 that have devastated the southern region of Turkey and parts of Syria. Reportedly, over 60,000 people were killed (though the actual death toll is likely much higher), thousands more are severely injured. The ones that survived lost everything. Amongst the victims, in my extended family, more than 20 people died.

In two initial waves of donations, thanks to my employer, we were able to collect donations for the region, I individually was able to secure donations that I sent to my family directly. The donations I collected were used to buy tents, buy food and essential hygiene supplies and order trucks with water supplies.

We need more help. Any future donation you'll make will contribute towards the surgery of a beloved one of us that lost her leg and needs a prosthesis, and secondarily water supplies as the infrastructure is not re-established. Remainders will contribute towards food supplies.

Please keep Turkey and Syria in your thoughts and prayers, let humanity win this battle as this natural disaster impacted an entire generation, it will take years to rebuild the region. We must rally together and stand in solidarity with those in need.
