Earthquake relief for Gili Air

Help us rebuild our beautiful Gili Air! 

Indonesia has been struck by a series of earthquakes over the past week, the most powerful one rated as 7,0
and it hit Lombok and the Gili Islands hard.
 
The structural damage is big and we are still without electric and running water.
People have lost their homes, their buisnesses and even their lives. 

We are asking for your help not only to rebuild our buisness, Gili Divers on Air, but also to help our staff and their villages and to
assist the entire community around us that has come together in the best of ways during this difficult time.

Update!

As Im writing this 11days has passed since the big earthquake.

For the first week after this we were without electric and running water while helping the tourist off the island and for us that live here on Gili Air, staying together in camps arranging basic needs like food, hygienic needs and sleeping in safe open spaces.

We have had many aftershocks of varying strength, but none reaching the power and intensity of the main one.
Electricity has been restored but only works periodically and the government powered water supply remains off.

So what have we been doing with your donations so far?!
As mentioned, your donations are going towards the rebuild of the diveshop, our local staff and their villages and the community
around us.
Diveshop and community - Well, without consistant electricity its hard to start properly rebuilding.
                                                      All we´ve  bought so far are the massive sledgehammers needed to break up the damaged concrete and                                                              the supplies needed to build our own water tower, that is able to feed our and the neighboring buisnesses.
                                                       We´re also doing our best to help the displaced animals around, alot of cats, goats, chickens, cows, horses
                                                       needing to be cut loose, let out of cages, feed and watered
Local staff - This is where most of the money has been going so far!
                           Our local staff lives in several different villages on the neighbouring island of Lomboks northern parts, the area worst
                           affected. We met up with our head captain (a man that lost 22 family members) and together we hit the local markets 
                           buying everything from tarps to food and diapers and took it to the staffs different villages.

Im writing this both to keep you all updated, and to try to answer the questions GoFundMe are asking me..
"How do you know the beneficiaries?" Well, its us.. and its them.. its the people and the animals around us..
"How do you intend to deliver your donations?" By the most ancient of ways? By hand to those who need it
