Earthquake Relief for Families in Venezuela

[THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT - SEE UPDATES AFTER DESCRIPTION]

On June 24th, two powerful 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck central Venezuela less than a minute apart, devastating communities in and around Caracas. The disaster hit at a time when the country is already struggling with an economic crisis and limited resources to respond to emergencies. Many families have lost their homes, and countless others are caring for wounded loved ones with little support.

We are a group of Venezuelans living in the United States (Nikolai and Isadoro in Atlanta, and Mariel in New York), and we still have family in Venezuela. Seeing the destruction and knowing the challenges our loved ones and neighbors face, we felt compelled to act. We have come together to launch this GoFundMe to provide direct support to families most affected by the earthquake. Our goal is to help those who need to care for injured relatives, those who have lost everything, and anyone facing urgent needs in the aftermath of this tragedy.

All funds raised will be distributed directly to families and coordinated with trusted organizations working on the ground in Venezuela. We are committed to ensuring that your generosity reaches those who need it most, as quickly as possible. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help Venezuelan families recover and rebuild. Your support means the world to us and to those who are suffering right now.

Focus: We are fundraising to provide resources to independent, reliable responders on the ground, and community-led emergency supply collection centers in Caracas and La Guaira.

UPDATE 06/30/2026 – 9:45 AM CARACAS TIME:
Thank you all for the overwhelming support and generosity you have shown in just a few days. We are deeply moved! Here are a few updates:

1) Where to donate?
After reaching our initial $30,000 goal last night (6/29/2026), we will close this fundraising effort and continue distributing the remaining funds in support of affected communities. However, this will be a long process, and affected families will need support for weeks and months to come.

Thankfully, trusted organizations have now begun operations in La Guaira and Caracas since we first started collecting funds on the night of the earthquake.

Moving forward, we encourage anyone still looking to help to consider supporting the organizations listed below. They are actively assisting affected families and will continue helping communities rebuild long after the emergency response phase has ended:

2) GoFundMe review process:
Given the number of fundraisers for this emergency and the fact that this is an independent effort, our campaign went through an enhanced due diligence review by GoFundMe as part of their efforts to support verified Venezuela earthquake relief fundraisers.

3) Expense report:

As the situation evolves and other needs become clearer, we will share more updates on how funds are being allocated and used, and we will ensure they help people who need them.

4) Besides providing direct funds to responders on the ground, we have also supported coordinating local groups in Caracas in purchasing and transporting supplies using resources already on the ground.
