Urgent Appeal for Support: Earthquake in Myanmar – Your Help
On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was struck by a devastating earthquake that has left a catastrophic impact, particularly in Upper Burma. The death toll has now surpassed 1,700, and countless others are still trapped beneath the rubble. The chances of survival decrease with every passing hour.
Tragedy Strikes at the Heart of Communities
The earthquake struck during one of the busiest times of the day, affecting hundreds of lives. Monks, students, and worshippers were at their most vulnerable—hundreds of monks were in the midst of their exams when the monastery collapsed, while schools and Muslim temples, full of worshippers, were also affected.
Overwhelmed Hospitals and Critical Shortages
Hospitals, including the largest general hospital in Mandalay, are overwhelmed. Injured people are lying on floors, lacking access to clean water, basic wound care, and even clean clothes. Roads and electricity have been cut off to many areas, and access to remote regions is increasingly difficult. There are not enough resources—fuel for diggers, medical supplies, or manpower—to assist those in desperate need.
