On Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 8:29 AM in the morning, A devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti threatening the lives of the Haitian people who already face decades of humanitarian crisis and now extremely high COVID-19 cases. The death toll is expected to continue to rise. The Haitian-American Community Coalition of SW Florida is mobilizing to assess immediate health needs like hygiene kits, PPE, and water purification supplies on the ground to save as many lives as possible.
