Earthquake Help For The Garrisons

Hi,

I am a coworker of Jim and Lara Garrison. The Garrisons' home was damaged in the December 20, 2022 earthquake. Another earthquake struck the area on January 1, 2023. The earthquakes have left their home uninhabitable. Knocked off of its foundation and is in need of some major repairs. The City of Rio Dell has deemed the home uninhabitable. Like many Californians, the Garrisons' are without earthquake coverage.

The Garrisons are great people. They both serve our community as elementary school teachers with the Southern Humboldt School District, working at Redway Elementary. They are cherished by the students and staff alike. When we have assemblies at the school the Garrisons are met with the loudest cheers. They are truly loved.

I am setting up this fundraiser hoping to remove some of the financial stress the Garrisons are and will face. Because their home is uninhabitable they are forced to move to a rental property and store all of their belongings for work to begin on their broken home. If you could assist with a donation I can promise it would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, the Garrisons are getting bids for the work needed to return their home to habitable. I will update this page with more information when it is available.
