This morning, when I woke up, the first news I heard was that a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar, and my hometown, Mandalay, was one of the hardest-hit areas. My family and neighbours are in the middle of it, and the situation is devastating.
Houses, including my family's, have been damaged or completely destroyed. People are sleeping outside because they are afraid of the aftershocks. Roads are cracked, building have collapsed, and hospitals are overwhelmed with injured people. Basic necessities like food and water are running low and many families have nowhere to go.
I am starting this fundraiser to send immediate support to those who are struggling right now. I will be transferring the funds to my parents, who are on the ground and will use them to support people in the community - by providing emergency food, water medical supplies and other essential aid to those in need. I know times are tough for everyone, but any amount helps - whether £5 or just sharing this fundraiser. Every bit of support means a lot right now.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you can donate or share, I'd really appreciate this.
