Earthdrop's Crowdfunded Recycling Mission

Donation protected

First of all, without any further details WE DO NOT expect to reach this goal, it is a dream-figure there to allow the GoFundMe to stay open (as requested online) as a means of continued contribution for the wonderful people who follow -

What we do:

So the gist of our little mission over the past few years has been to start a working, environmentally-friendly upcycling/recycling center from nothing. From humble beginnings and for the longest time, my fiance and I have been out collecting rubbish, litter and fly-tipping from every natural space we can reach, with the intention of upcyling what we can and recycling the rest!

More details:

For those of you who don't know, my name is Josh - and we've been here before! Our first GoFundMe almost a year ago raised a fantastic sum, that went towards paying deposits on our premisis, purchasing a suitable vehicle to do the work, kitting out or humble little upcycling center and generally facilitating the beginning of the next phase of our mission to remove every last piece of litter from rivers, forests and nature! ♻️

So it's worth covering first, just how tremendously grateful my family and I are for people like yourselves making any of this possible! This past year, establishing ourselves and picking up as much litter as we have just wouldn't have been possible without you!

So why are we back?

Well - having set up a Patreon (among other efforts) to help cover rent, utilities and ongoing bills we'd hoped by now to be in a place where the work paid for itself..

But the truth is we're still working on making that happen!

Patreon now is around £1000-1100PM, which is wonderful, incredible and flattering - the fact that ANYONE signed up means the world..

But in the interest of transparency (and those of you familiar with me and our project know how high a priority that is) I want to lay on the table how the finances look:

Our upcycling premises is currently £1,250pm in rent.

Then a further £250pm in utilities.

Vehicle maintainance/fuel/insurance etc is circa £250pm.

So without factoring things like bags, replacing tools and other various assorted costs, that's roughly £1,750pm ($2,275).

Meaning we've been covering the difference from what was left of our last GFM, and it's starting to look.. not so good.

We recieve ZERO financial aid from local government, governing bodies, companies, sponsors or any other such avenues - up to now every penny has been raised and kindly offered by beautiful souls fortunate enough to be in a position to help us make this possible!

Where would the funds go?

Any funds raised from this point forward would be for the following:-

- Keeping the rent paid and the lights on.

- Vehicle maintainance/insurance/fuel

- Tools like grabbers/bags/PPE etc

- Community engagement (volunteer days)

Eventually, if funds ever allow, there are some grander plans for the project's future

And they look like this:

Industrial shredders for collected waste.

Industrial furnace for collected metals.

Community bins/drop-off areas.

Garbage trucks to collect more at once.

Branching into sea-waste collection.

To name a few..

I know this is a lot of reading, but to satiate my inner-voice that was always taught never to ask for anything, I figure the least I can do is be open, honest and informative now that we're in a position where it's either ask, or sink.

lastly

How will it pay for itself eventually?

The main source of income for the future, we hope, is going to be the art, trinkets and other assorted thingymajigs we can make from the rubbish we sift and dig through nature for!

Secondly - once established as an actual business (we've waited because it will incur additional costs) we HOPE to be eligible for grants to help further the work.

And finally - we're now on the lookout for ethical, caring companies who'd be willing to work alongside us to make as big a positive impact on the Earth as possible!

In conclusion:

While not where we thought we'd be at this point, we still have the utmost faith that we can do what we do for nature, wildlife and future generations without having to sacrifice things like the roof over our children's heads or the food on our table - and that's what we're working towards!

I am impossibly grateful that you've even read this short book, and if you have read it all and decided you'd like to donate ANYTHING at all - know that not only are you contributing to making the world a safer, cleaner, healthier place, but you're genuinely inspiring a humble little family to continue to commit their lives to making a difference!

If there's ANY questions, comments or concerns please feel free to share them and rest assured that every single donation will be responded to with a genuine message of thanks, love and appreciation.

Sincerely,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you make all of this possible!

Eternally gratefully,

Josh, Jodi and family.

Together we can change the world! ❤️
