Earthbag Homes for homeless in Nepal

Donation protected
Woven Earth(www.wovenearth.org) is a 501c3, North Carolina based non profit. Since 2015 Woven Earth has been working in Nepal to rebuild homes for those who lost their homes in the devastating earthquake of 2015.
Woven Earth has come back every year since 2015 and built homes for Rainbow Children Home Orphanage and other afflicted individuals. Now Woven Earth is headed back for our fifth annual earth bag course where will construct a home for a elderly widower who lives in a small sheet metal shack. All proceeds go directly to purchasing materials and labor.
Earthbag is a sustainable technology that utilizes recycled plastic bags and clay based soils to create strong earthquake resistant buildings at a fraction of the energy used in conventional building techniques. Lucas Trotman is a board member of Woven Earth and has helped design and construct dozens of homes, community buildings, and schools around the world and will be leading this build in partnership with other Woven Earth board member Michael Smith. Michael has lived in Nepal as a social worker and professor for many years. His strong understanding of the culture allows him to understand the needs and challenges within the community.  Michael has helped create many social projects in Nepal and has met with village leaders in Pharping District personally  to identify our beneficiaries.

Woven Earth Mission statement-Our mission is to foster community resilience and ecological balance through worldwide service-learning programs, which promote innovative regenerative design practices and integrate local wisdom.

WE focus on applying creative solutions to communities in need around the world in the format of permaculture design courses, natural building workshops, cross cultural service-learning tours, and community-based land-regeneration projects.

Moreover, Woven Earth, as the name suggests is intended to weave connections on the planet; links between people, links between cultures, and links within nature (i.e. cultivation techniques, seeds, ecosystem regeneration, etc). Woven Earth is dedicated to the holistic development of interlinked, diverse cultures integrated with Nature.
