Earth Art Community Mural

Greetings Family, Friends, and Community,

I am an ecological earth artist and land steward with a mission to regenerate healthy and vibrant relationships between people and the earth. My current project is the Earth Art Community Mural where youth will come together to create a collaborative, nature based artwork at their local community center. The youth participants will create their own art materials from the soils and plants of their local land, cultivate community by working together, and learn to give back to their local community. To help turn this vision into a reality, I have enrolled in an intensive 6 month program called the Movement Builders Institute to provide me with a support system to ensure this project’s success.

(Making Earth Art  with Miracle Girls nature program)

I am seeking financial support towards making my vision a reality. Every contribution counts, and I am grateful for all of the support. Please pass along my project to family and friends via email and posts to social media. Your financial contributions and the sharing of this project greatly support the realization of the Earth Art Community Mural.

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Pablo Picasso

“Great art picks up where nature ends.”  Marc Chagall

The Earth Art Community Mural will be built in partnership with a local youth organization and a recreation center, engaging youth to regenerate a public wall space using natural materials. The entire project, from image design to material making to painting, is a collaborative community-based process, which teaches the art of creatively working together. Youth participants will learn how to gather natural materials and soils from the land, creatively transform them into paints, and paint images inspired by their local flora and fauna. The project gives youth an opportunity to:

* Intimately connect to specific places of their landscape
* Increase awareness towards soil and earth health
* Engage their creative and artistic skills
* Learn about both modern and traditional practices of
  ecological artists and indigenous cultures
* Practice teamwork and community building
* Steward beautification projects in their own
  communities

By collecting materials from nature, making the paints, working collaboratively, and giving back to the local community, youth participants will develop and regenerate a variety of vital relationships - with the creative process, between one another, and with the earth.

The Movement Builders Institute will help ensure the success of the Earth Art Community Mural Project, as well as future mural projects, by equipping me with the tools necessary to make my vision a reality. This program supports me with goal-setting, project flow and follow-through, overcoming unpredicted obstacles, enrolling people into my projects, and empowering others. The Movement Builders Institute is providing the support structure for the development and implementation of the Earth Art Community Mural Project.

"The creative arts are the measure and reflection of our civilization. They offer many children an opportunity to see life with a larger perspective...The moral values we treasure are reflected in the beauty and truth that is emotionally transmitted through the arts. The arts say something about us to future generations."
–Ann P. Kahn, Former President of The National PTA

I am grateful and excited to offer this opportunity for youth to engage with natural and creative ways to work with the earth, beautify their neighborhoods, build a collaborative team, and empower their creative expressions and dreams. Thank you for your support in making this art project become a reality for the youth and their surrounding community.

A personal note from Kelsi:

I am an ecological earth artist and land steward with a mission to regenerate healthy and vibrant relationships between people and the earth. My recent project is an Earth Art Community Mural where youth will come together to create a collaborative, nature based artwork at their local community center this November. To ensure the realization of this project, I enrolled in a 6 month course called the Movement Builders Institute that has provided me with a support system for the the success of this community mural project. This community mural project will allow youth to create their own art materials from the soils and plants of their local land, to cultivate community by working together, and to give back creatively to their local neighborhood.

Will you support the realization of this project by contributing to my program tuition and costs for this mural? Please go to the Earth Art Community Mural project campaign at
