Eartha Quake Family Fund

Arkansas' Queen Eartha Quake passed away suddenly Monday, January 4 due to complications from COVID-19. She was 32.
A walk-through visitation will be held January 15 from 3-5 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2501 S. Main St. in Little Rock. Flowers and plants will be accepted after 12:30 p.m. on that day at Brown's Christian Funeral Service at 1705 Main St. in North Little Rock, 72114. Florists should call (501) [phone redacted] for delivery. All monies received via this GoFundMe will go to her family.
In her short time with us, Eartha made a profound impression upon the state's LGBTQ community and was loved by so many. Audiences at Club Sway knew her as a quick-witted comedienne on the judges' panel for the competition show, Fresh Fish, which she helped launch to great success in 2014. From that post, she shaped a younger generation of drag queens, providing constructive criticism from the panel, as well as quiet support, encouragement and guidance behind the scenes. She forged friendships with dozens of new queens in that role, which she held up until her passing.
Of course, Eartha was a friend to many individuals across the state and beyond, often going out of her way to make others feel special. With her larger-than-life persona, she welcomed people of all walks to our community simply by being such an active participant in numerous groups and functions. A force of energy, she could absolutely fill a room with her presence, not to mention her ability to captivate from the stage with deep-felt emotion. Eartha was the current reigning Miss Gay Little Rock, a title befitting of a queen who needed no introduction in the state's capital city.
In many ways, Eartha was a lynchpin of Arkansas' LGBTQ community, connecting the pageant and camp worlds, the black and white communities, and folks in different geographic areas. We are devastated by her untimely passing. Its occurrence months into this pandemic means many of us had not seen her recently, when under normal circumstances, she would have been a regular presence in our lives.
A video memorial is being prepared to honor Eartha's life and legacy. To contribute video clips or photos of Eartha or your own messages and memories, please send them to Sway via Facebook.
