"Earth Turns" Debut Pressing & the Chesapeake Bay

I, Ben Laderberg, will run the Richmond, Virginia Marathon on November 12th to help fund the first pressing of Kendall Street Company’s first full studio LP “Earth Turns” with a TBD portion of the album proceeds going to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (more info below).

EARTH TURNS

Back in the early months of 2016, I was invited by Louis to lend my geetar skills to the record that was to become…. “Earth Turns.” Following a week-long rehearsal session in Sandbridge, VA, the actual recording session in New Bedford VA, and my continued presence at the rest of the gigs that year, it soon became clear to all that I was now a member of this band. This is THE record that made it happen. And yet, six years later, it has never been pressed on vinyl. Now is the time.

From recording engineer Jake Dempsey after the recording session: “Just finished the most intense 5 days of sessions I’ve had in years. 12-14 hour days. 8 dudes. Horns. Flutes. Percussion. A glockenspiel. Many guitar stacks. Many beers consumed. All the guys in this band are ultra driven and talented. They came here with a plan and made it happen…I had a blast. You will be hearing about this band. Trust me.”

THE DEAL

I am aiming to reach a goal of $4000 which will cover the pressing costs of a vinyl batch of around 150 units. Donations of $30 and up will receive a vinyl when the pressings are done (turn around is between 3-6 months). Anyone who donates $10 or more will receive a CD copy of the record. Donations of any amount are still appreciated :)

The vinyl mockup in the picture is subject to change as we continue the design process. Pretty cool though right?

THE CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION

The band's namesake "Kendall Street" is located in Virginia Beach right by the Chesapeake Bay. Fittingly, we have performed at the Brock Center's "Save the Bay" fundraiser event numerous times, as keeping our local ecosystems healthy and sustainable is important to all of us in the band.
