Ears for Owen!

Friends and family,

As many of you know, I can be quite stubborn when it comes to asking for help. But this year has brought many challenges to our family. I suffer from a chronic illness, Ulcerative Colitis. I’ve been in and out of work this year dealing with the worst flare-up that I’ve ever experienced, making everyday tasks extremely difficult. We’ve managed to persevere throughout while also dealing with the “usual” issues that families face like our AC going out, however our finances have been increasingly tight.

We recently found out that our sweet 5 year old son, Owen, has significant hearing loss which has impacted his speech and success in school.  Over the past month, we’ve taken Owen to multiple hospital/ENT/Audiologist/Speech Therapy appointments. Many of them have not been covered by insurance. He was fitted this week for his hearing aids and while we are excited to move forward and see what  amazing things he can achieve once he has them, we were disheartened to learn that insurance doesn’t cover them.  In addition, we don’t qualify for assistance programs that we’ve found.

We know things are tough for many families right now.  But if you are able to make a donation of any amount, we would be incredibly grateful.  And you would be able to help our precious son regain his hearing! Something that many of us take for granted, but can make a world of difference for him!
