Early Detection Matters: Prostate Cancer Awareness Film
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dr Mark Woolley PhD. I am a medical scientist, prostate cancer survivor, and filmmaker. I, along with my colleague, Professor John Martin, are volunteering our time to make a short and emotionally engaging film to raise awareness of screening for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Australia. Every day in Australia, 70 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and ten men die. There is a pressing need to increase the public’s awareness that detecting prostate cancer early can save lives. Our film has a simple message - to encourage men to talk to their doctor about a simple blood test for prostate cancer. A key driver for volunteering our time is our sincere hope that our film may help save lives.
We are seeking financial support to help us make the film. All funds donated will be used to film, edit and deliver the final movie. Any amount you are willing to contribute would be greatly appreciated. It would also be fantastic if you could please share this request with your family and friends.
We believe that with a greater awareness of prostate cancer, more men will be encouraged to discuss the disease with their doctor and fewer men will die from this disease. We believe our film will lead to benefits for Australian men and their families, and we seek your support to help us make this film. Thank you.
