Thanks to everyone that is visiting this GoFundMe page. My recent cancer diagnosis included some very difficult treatment choices. The surgical intervention described was not acceptable to me as it would permanently alter my life and likely leave me susceptible to many future complications. I have found a novel nonsurgical approach offered at a Chicago center for advanced medicine. I will be patient number 20 to undergo the treatment plan for this type of cancer. The treatment plan will necessitate my moving to Chicago for almost 3 months. Extended stay accommodations, even economy level, would run somewhere in the range of $4,000. Add in the cost of the medical treatment, travel, and follow-up visits, and this gets expensive quickly.
