Hi my name is Earl, the past 6 months have been the most tragic and difficult of my life! Mid-August 2022, I was living a happy, normal life. On August 20’th, my wife Merry Bernard was admitted to Renown with an unknown Neurological Condition. Six days later, my doctor insisted that I go to the ER due to the fact that I had cellulitis spreading from my toes to halfway up my chest. I thought that I would be returning home the same day, instead I was admitted as well. My Dad, 89 years old, helped out by watching my stepson and stopping by to care for our animals. I ended up being hospitalized for a little over two months. During that time, my wife of 5 years died of heart failure at 49. I had to try and make arrangements from my hospital bed. My stepson went to live with his uncle. Our animals had to be surrendered. I was released with a walker in November. I’ve been staying in a group home to stay out of the shelter. I’ve been learning to walk again without a walker. My dad was helping me financially as I had just applied for disability. Last month he passed away also. As I wait for disability and for his estate to be settled I have no income. I am in desperate need of financial help, just enough to survive and to take care of my healthcare needs.
