Howdy, this is Jen. So many of you have asked what you can do to support us while Eamon is sick and hospitalized. Nothing really came to mind - we're eating meals at the Ronald McDonald House at Children's, their social work department presented us with a parking card for the green ramp, we have no pets that need caring for, and the lawn is dead from the hot summer, so you can't come over and mow it. Jo has plenty of sick time, and I've applied for MN Paid Leave for a reduced schedule through Thanksgiving.

I realized today, though, that the MN Paid Leave - WHILE WONDERFUL, DON'T GET ME WRONG!!! I am a huge proponent of MN Paid Leave!! - isn't going to come through for at least 2-4 weeks, and will not fully replace my pay. This could leave us in some tight situations financially. Also, some friends gifted us a grocery card from the co-op where we get our groceries most frequently and it made me cry which made me realize that I'm more stressed out about my loss of income than I realized.
