Eamon Heath Respite Care 2020
The Eamon Heath Respite Care Fund is currently at zero dollars and I am once again asking you to help this worthy cause.
A sampling of the costs to provide this essential and specially trained care are:
· Overnight respite minimum of $150 per night
· After-school care, $55 per day
· Weekend-help runs at $15 to $20 per hour
These costs are not covered by any government or private health plans and must be paid by Anne and Rod.
On behalf of Anne and Rod, I would like to extend a very warm and heart felt thank you for your donations to Eamon’s “Go Fund Me” over the past two years. As many of you know, Eamon will be 17 on December 19th, 2020. Eamon has a kind heart, a hearty laugh, and a deep love of God. Some of his favourite things to do are attending Mass and watching it on YouTube, singing his favourite hymns, eating smarties, cuddling with his teddy and going for walks or short drives.
Eamon has Severe Developmental Disability and Autism and functions at the mental capacity of a two-year-old. He feels very secure, settled and happy when he is in a routine with which he is very familiar. Except for a few words, he is non-verbal and needs care 24/7 by specially trained people who can maintain these routines.
Your generous donations have meant that the Heath family were able to do many things that would have otherwise been out of reach.
· Anne and Rod can attend family events and work-related activities because they are able to use Go-Fund-Me funds to pay for care for Eamon at home.
· Anne and Rod have been able to spend important quality time with Eamon’s sister Bridget, who is now coming 14 years old. Having a carer for Eamon for a few hours regularly, they are able to devote much needed time to help Bridget navigate the teenage years and take her to activities that are so important for her growth and development.
Until very recently, Kathleen and Des have been a tremendous support to Anne and Rod. They provided the much-needed care for Eamon which cut down their care expenses. Now, due to health reasons and COVID-19, both are unable to provide this essential care. This dramatically increases the need for over night respite and short-term care for Eamon. Therefore, I am appealing to all family members to help Anne and Rod as they continue to provide love and care to Eamon in their home.
Give what you can, large or small, all donations are very much appreciated!
Donating is simple, using your credit or bank card, follow the steps below. Donations will go directly to Anne and Rod.
On Behalf of Anne and Rod,
Thank you and God Bless
Ed Gilligan
