Ealing Half Marathon for Medical Aid For Palestine (Updated)

Hey guys,

So as you can see from the below text my original plan was to run the Richmond Riverside Summer Half Marathon on July 7th. Unfortunately during training I have sustained an injury to my left foot. I went and see a physio therapist, who told me I'd done some damage to the 'the intrinsic muscles that control the long arch' of my foot. This happened because I have hyper mobility in my joints, including in my ankles and feet, and my left foot and ankle lean in quite a lot. As my mileage was increasing in my training, and my shoes were wearing out, my left foot wasn't being support properly which has resulted in this injury. Running at the moment has been really painful, and I have been advised to take some time off running. and not to run the half marathon. Running the half marathon would be very difficult and painful, and could result in long term damage to my foot.

I'm really gutted to not be running on July 7th, HOWEVER I will still be running a half marathon for MAP this year. I have signed up to the Ealing Half Marathon, which is on September 29th. I know this seems quite a long while away, however I want to feel certain my injury will have time to heal, and I will have enough time to get back to training and feeling confident for my half marathon.

All donations will still be doing to Medical Aid For Palestinians. As I now have some more time to fundraise I have also decided to increase my goal to try and raise as much as possible.
