Eagle Scout Project- Hill Country Bible Church

Hi, my name is Christian King and I am working on my Eagle Scout project benefitting the Hill Country Bible Church in Austin, Texas. I have been raising money through pressure washing driveways and other means but I am still short of my goal to raise money. My project includes three things. First, the HCBC (Church) has a very large area of barren ground. I am going to plant over 100 Native Plants in the garden area and mulch. Second, I am building by hand two large limestone benches for seating. These benches have Bible verses engraved into them. Third, I am building tables to accompany some chairs in the garden so people may eat lunch or gather. The funds I raise go 100% toward this project, with any leftover funds going directly to the Church. My project is planned for completion on March 10, 2024. I have been working with the quarry, the stone carver, the sand blaster and the landscaping nursery to coordinate all of this. The goals are the following:

The area in front of the church is currently barren, this project will improve morale of churchgoers with the beautification of the surrounding area, improve community involvement at the church and provide outside seating so members can eat, pray, talk, and engage with each other.

The plants will help keep the ground covered, bring in beneficial life such as bees and birds.

The congregation does not have a place outside to put food and drinks if they wish to eat together on the large patio area near the garden.

The bench will be used by parents who wish to watch their children on the playground, or to sit and watch the sunset overlooking the lake.

The project is important to me as I have been working towards my Eagle Scout Rank for 4 years and this is my largest project towards my final rank of Eagle Scout.

Although I wanted to raise all the money myself some of the costs are greater than I anticipated, especially for plants and sandblasting. I would greatly appreciate your help to attain my goal.
