Hello, my name is Drew Ambrus with Scouts BSA Troop 720 out of Alta Loma, CA and I am fundraising for my Eagle Scout Project. I have been in scouting for 5 years and part of earning my final rank of Eagle Scout is to manage an Eagle Scout Project that helps my community.

I am working with the US forestry service to help them certify the Lytle Creek Nursery as a "Phytophthora Free Nursery". Phytophthora species are soil-inhabiting pathogens that are favored by wet conditions. Although previously considered fungi, Phytophthora species are now considered to be in a separate classification called oomycetes.

I have always enjoyed the outdoors and wanted to help my community enjoy the forest as I have. The US forestry service works to preserve our forests for future generations to enjoy.

To help prevent this species from invading the nursery I will be constructing a 3-foot wide, 4-inch deep, and 370-foot long trench filled with a weed barrier and gravel surrounding the perimeter of the nursery. My goal is to raise $2,000.00 to purchase the supplies and miscellaneous expenses needed to complete the project. My deadline for fundraising is September 30th, 2022. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated.
