I am building a GaGa Ball pit for the Miami Valley School for my Eagle Scout project.
An Eagle Scout Project is the final step a Scout must complete to earn Scouting's highest rank. The project must be done for a non-profit group to help society. Example projects range from making bridges over creeks to accessible websites for retirement homes. The reason I want to build this project is to help nourish and excite the elementary school children with a new and fun way to exercise and spend time outside. GaGa Ball is a way to build friendships and be with your classmates in a hit game everyone can enjoy with one another. It fills time like nothing else and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, especially children.
GaGa Ball is a game in which children (or even adults!) gather in a ring of wood.
They pass a playground ball between one another by whacking it toward their opponents croquet-style with their hands. The goal is to be the last one playing in the ring. You lose by having the ball hit you below the knees or hitting it out of the ring.
I am working on this project and will be organizing volunteer labor. However, the supplies required are expensive. I appreciate any donations. You can ensure this project gets finished with quality materials. Help make quality time for the elementary-age kids!
