my name is Garrick Schmidt and I am a land based educator on Ochapowace First Nation reserve. 

I am fundraising dollars for the purchase and up keep of my dog sled team. I will be having my middle years students working with the team. 

There are many benefits of our indigenous and non indigenous youth working with animals. This will benefit their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. 

my hope is that this will ignite the passion I have for the sport of mushing in my students but also give them the tools to possibly build a career into becoming a veterinarian.
