Eagle Project - St Paul VI Parish Sign Renovation
Donation protected
My name is Luke and I am a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 608 in Hamden. I have been a scout for over eleven years. I have been a member of St. Paul VI parish (formerly St. Rita and Divine Mercy) since my baptism seventeen years ago, and have served as an altar boy since I was 8 years old. I graduated from St. Rita School and have been active in my parish taking part in special liturgies, Living Stations of the Cross and Youth Group. One of the requirements to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout is to perform a project to benefit my community. I chose St. Paul VI Parish as my beneficiary since it has been a big part of my life, and I want to give back to the parish. To this end, my Eagle Scout project involves renovating two of the Church signs to reflect the new parish. I will also undertake landscaping of these areas once the signs are installed. I chose this project because having unified signs will help with the building of community and unification of the four parishes, which are now the one parish of St. Paul VI Parish. Having the same signage will help affirm the message of unity.
To complete this project, I must raise $9,700 in order to pay for the signs and landscaping items. I am asking the parish to assist with this effort. All monies raised will go directly to this project, and any money raised in excess of the project needs will go towards the signage needs at the other two churches which will also be renovated in the future.
Donations may also be made by check. Checks can be made out to St. Paul VI Parish with “Eagle Project” in the memo line (Attn. Paula Nugent, 1620 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06517).
