Hello! My name is Eva York and I am a Life Scout for the BSA Troop 1717G. I'm an avid animal lover and care deeply about the welfare of cats and dogs. My Eagle Project supports the Stafford County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), where I have volunteered since 2021. The Stafford County SPCA is a nonprofit, no kill, animal rescue organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of area animals. This project focuses on expanding a "dog enclosure" and constructing a new and larger space for the shelter's canine residents! This will create enough space for the dogs to play, exercise, and interact as a pack, which is crucial for socialization. Socialization exposes dogs and puppies to new people, animals, places, sights, sounds, and experiences in a controlled and positive manner to help them become well-adjusted, confident, and less fearful companions and increases their chances of being adopted.
Be a partner and a friend to the many puppies and dogs currently residing at the Stafford County SPCA who are patiently waiting for their forever home! Open your heart to donate, whether monetarily or with your time. My fundraiser will purchase lumber, fence panels, posts, gates and hardware, along with a list of supplies to make the best dog play pen for the Stafford County SPCA and for me to make a positive, lasting contribution to my community beyond my Scouting endeavor.
Please consider helping with and supporting my project and thank you!
