Eagle Scout Creating a Play Area for Women & Kids

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

My name is Apara Sai Jella, and I am a junior in high school and a life scout working towards earning the Eagle Award which is the highest award in the Scout BSA journey.

Project Pride
in Hayward CA, provides housing for women in recovery from substance abuse, many of whom also have co-occurring mental health disabilities and other special needs. The program enables women to reunite and care for their young children while in recovery. Many of the women are at the risk of losing custody of their children while having to finish the rehabilitation program.

Project Pride has plenty of open, un-used space which can be used by the women to spend quality time with their children. There has been a need to make this open space family friendly. The plan is to convert it the area into a relaxing and fun place for everyone to have a good time. The project will consist of landscaping, building and assembling a children's playground, a meditation area for the women to relax, installing an artificial lawn with low maintenance, and  creating a seating area for the women and their children.

The estimated budget for this project is $4000. Kindly help by donating either cash or sponsor an item, such as a play structure, artificial grass, mulch, plants, water fountain, or benches. Any amount is greatly appreciated and valued.

The goal is to complete this project by the end of April.

I am looking forward to completing this community project with your help.

Thank you so much for your help!

Best Regards,
Apara Sai Jella
