Hi, my name is Emma Schaefer and I’m fundraising to help cover dues so I can go play rugby this summer! I had recently got invited to play with the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy touring Ireland. I’ve been playing rugby since 2019. I play both for Southeast Polk RFC and Iowa Selects (Hawkettes). Being invited to something of this nature is huge for me because I have put in blood and sweat to become the player I am today. This is a great chance for me to better my rugby game. This also will be a great opportunity for me to better my leadership skills on and off the pitch. Most importantly, I will be able bring knowledge back to my high school teams so we can all become better rugby players. To me, rugby isn’t just a sport or a off season pass time. Rugby creates a sense comradery that no other sport has. Rugby has given me the drive to strive to be the best athlete, teammate, and overall person I can be.
