This campaign benefits my good friend and colleague, Kim. Kim is a mother of two, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a nurse. She spends her career caring for others and her home life raising two amazing children (and sometimes her husband Nate). She is one of the smartest and wittiest humans you will ever have the benefit of meeting, and spreads kindness and inclusivity wherever she goes. She is an eclectic being, having traveled and lived with her husband and children in many parts of the world.
In 2018, an unfortunate turn of events had Kim diagnosed with Breast cancer. She underwent surgery and radiation and was placed on oral hormone therapy for further management. The tumor was gone, but as time went by, the symptoms compounded. Kim has struggled to work night shift with the symptoms she experiences, but cannot afford not to work for financial reasons. Just this past week, she received some more challenging news about further complications with her diagnosis.
Amidst all of this, Kim and her family just recently closed on a house. Having rented for many years in the Twin Cities area, it was time to reestablish roots. With a new mortgage, medical bills, and Kim’s struggle with the challenges of managing cancer, a career, and raising a family, she’s been stretched pretty thin.
I am raising funds to help alleviate the ever looming feeling of dread that comes with the mountain of debt that cancer accrues. These funds will help Kim to invest in her health, rather than putting a price tag on it.
Please help me in shining a bit of light on a beautiful person in need of something positive. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
